I lost them one by one.
And I lost them again and again.
Just like the earth getting wet
By the falling drops of summer rain.
And they fell from some corner in the sky
That turned murky red before the fall.
And never did this thought pass by
That slow, but I was losing them all.
And it felt lighter to wake up,
With one more stick down-
An autumn-struck tree I became
With one more less leaf in its crown.
And every day kept changing.
But to me they were all the same.
But, soon came a rainy summer night
When I looked around me in hazy light
Not a single soul standing with me there
But creepy shadows with pounding stares.
And thus in that beautiful summer rain.
I stood alone.
